During my time in Finland, I also enjoyed many delicious foods. I recently embarked on a culinary adventure through Finland, immersing myself in the rich and diverse flavors of Finnish cuisine. From hearty stews to delicate pastries, each dish I sampled offered a tantalizing glimpse into the country’s culinary heritage.

Nestled in Helsinki’s historic city center, Savotta Restaurant offers a charming ambiance and traditional Finnish cuisine with a modern twist. Located at Aleksanterinkatu 22, 00100 Helsinki, this restaurant is easily accessible from the central train station.

Stepping into Savotta Restaurant felt like entering a time capsule to Finland’s past. The cozy interior, adorned with vintage photographs and traditional wooden furnishings, exuded a warm and inviting atmosphere. As I settled into my seat, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of nostalgia for simpler times.

I really enjoyed this warm experience.

The restaurant’s log cabin exterior and cozy interior adorned with reindeer hides and flickering candles created an atmosphere of rustic charm. As I settled into my seat by the crackling fireplace, I felt a sense of tranquility wash over me.

I started with a reindeer tartare, finely chopped and seasoned with aromatic herbs and spices, served with crispy flatbread and tangy pickles. The flavors were bold and robust, a true reflection of the rugged landscapes and pristine wilderness of Lapland. For the main course, I indulged in sautéed reindeer, tender strips of meat cooked to perfection and served with creamy mashed potatoes and lingonberry sauce. Each bite was a revelation, a testament to the timeless allure of Lapland’s culinary traditions and the skill of its masterful chefs.

Located on the shores of the Gulf of Bothnia, Restaurant Nallikari offers stunning sea views and delicious seafood. Situated at Leiritie 10, 90510 Oulu, this restaurant is just a short drive from the city center.

The restaurant’s sleek and modern interior, with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the water, provided the perfect backdrop for a memorable dining experience.I was impressed by the restaurant’s focus on fresh, locally sourced ingredients. I opted for the grilled salmon, caught fresh from the Gulf of Bothnia, served with a side of roasted vegetables and dill sauce. Each bite of the succulent fish was a revelation, bursting with delicate flavors that danced on my taste buds.

In Restaurant Nallikari, I met a group of fellow travelers who had just returned from an afternoon of kayaking on the Gulf of Bothnia. They regaled me with tales of their adventures on the water, paddling past rugged coastlines and spotting seals basking in the sun. It was a reminder of the beauty and serenity of Finland’s natural landscapes, best enjoyed with good food and great company.
